About the Event
The University of Houston Literature Students are requesting our input!
Their instructor, Dr. Harwell, has invited us to share our stories from when we attended Milby.
The students are writing a paper on the history of Harrisburg/Milby and we would like you to join us in contributing your stories and experiences.
Please join us in person on
Saturday, April 6th
10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
They will have a series of questions to ask us in order to record and preserve this history. Please bring any photos you may have to tell your story. Help us continue to write and record our legacy.
A message from Dr. Harwell:
Thank you for coming to meet with my students and me for an info session on Milby history!
We will meet in the Honors College inside the UH M.D. Anderson Library. The closest parking is in the Welcome Center Garage. The address is 4434 University Dr. but the Visitor Parking entrance is on MLK Blvd. (formerly Calhoun).
Exit the garage by the elevators and follow the green line to walk to the library.
Inside the library is a spiral staircase immediately on your right (and an elevator beside it). If you look up as you start going upstairs, you will see a sign for the Honors College and the entrance. (This will be behind you when you reach the top of the stairs.) You do not need an ID to enter this area.
Go into the Honors College and you will see a large lounge open room on the right and inside there is the Estess Alumni Library conference room.
A student or I will be at the front of the Honors College until 10:00 or a little after that to greet you. If you have trouble finding it, please text or call me at 281-685-2366. If I don’t answer, please try again, or give me a few minutes to get back to you. The phone reception can be unpredictable there.
Thank you!!
